ok, it is a 1996 Nissan Maxima, at first, the car wont start, so we thought the battery died out. After we recharge the battery, cars starts again, but the problem is...while we are driving on the high way, after we apply the brake, the headlight kinda dims out then the car just stall out. This happenes couple times........can this be the alternator or.....???? someone please tell me what the problem is..thanx

Alternator seems like my best (educated) guess. That or bad grounding.

bonus time here. I believe your car falls under the altenator recall. call your local dealer and have them run your VIN number on DCS. They can check to see if it needs the recall. I know for sure the recall applies to 97 but not sure if the other year is 96 or 98.
