I can't find the stock Nissan wave washer to the shifter anywhere-Nissan doesnt have it listed in their catalogueCan someone either provide me with the part for sale, where I could get it, or a part number.I have been to 3 dealers and called Courtesy Nissan and I cant find it for anything.

The wave washer under the shifter- I replaced the stock shifter with a short shifter and discovered that I dont have the wave washer-This causes me not to go in reverse.

that shouldn't happen... I knwo of many people that didn't put it in and their shifters work fine... double check and see if you installed it right.. also do search on this topic.. I know many people have had the same problem and have gotten helped on the boards... so search and you iwll find the answer

Hard to tell, but looks like it might be part 32879 on carfiche:

Sometimes the best way to deal with the parts counter person is to point to something in a diagram.

HOWEVER... I don't see how this would affect reverse. ? ? ?Are you sure you installed the stick correctly - not backwards - so the bend faces the right way?

EDIT: I just saw your previous post about having problems in 5th also. This happened to other people when they put the stick in backwards.

Its in the right way with the bend facing towards me-just to be sure I tried it both ways.

The bend in the middle should point away from you, and toward the front of the car.

In other words, the bend should cause the top of the stick to lean toward the rear of the car a little more than it would otherwise.
