Hi there!I know this is a long shot but who knows, maybe someone can help me.

Well this is what happened... since where I live (Romania) you cannot find any gasket's for the CA intake manifold I had to make something on my own. So between the intake manifold and the head I've put some gasket silicone. But there was a problem... A hole appeared right at the water port and I lost a lot of water there. Since silicone is not a solution I have to do a gasket myself from another material.

Now I might be wrong but can anyone scan a gasket so I can print it and make another one after the model?

It's pretty simple to get the outline. You take a sheet of paper and trace the shapes you need gasket to seal on the head, basically you can make a stencil of yourself this way. I wouldn't know what to make a gasket out of though.

Trust me guys, nobody in Romania brings the damn gasket. I've called all big part dealers and Nissan dealers that I know of. I also must mention that there are not more than 20 cars like this in Romania. Also I could easily just order it online from an US website or European one but they won't ship to Romania. Now you can imagine how hard it is to find performance parts here for the CA18DET, not to mention the price when you actually find them.

Oh, and about the official Nissan dealer mentioned earlier... well they had a 300ZX for some repairs a few years back, they ended up tearing the motor apart and not knowing hot to bolt it back on. They had to buy the car from the owner... Last year a group of students from Japan visited the shop. They asked what was wrong with the dusty 300ZX. They repaired it and now the dealer is selling the car for 17.000 Euros...

So this is how things are going here when it's about pre-Renault Nissans.

I have one coming in on Friday hopefully. I will scan it for you if it's your last hope. It may be hard to maintain the scale. I can give you a reference measurement so you can adjust printing accordingly.

Wow....that's pretty bad......and cool they fixed it. Cant you order anything from a dealer in the UK or Germany and have them mail it to you? Why wont anyone ship to Romania?....do packages get stolen out of the mail? I'm sure we could mail you parts if you really need them....so long as you can paypal us (me...whomever).

Good luck with your parts search.

I will most certainly register a paypal account after all. Since my last post in unfortunately totaled the Nissan 200SX I had.

I own now a 240SX Pignose Coupe KA24E and a 200SX CA18DET Hatchback.

But the same run after parts...

Your head is going to be a 4 port head right? I have seen some 8 ports here (very few) so before you go ordering that intake gasket you might want to make sure.

I work at the post office here on the US Base and there isn't much you can do going to Romania. We can send stuff but if I recall correctly you can't do anything like insurance or tracking. Hell the Germans won't let you rent a car and drive it to Romania.
