i've been debating heavily over tein flexes or apexi N1 pro coilovers. if you had to choose between the two, which would you pick? i plan on eventually autocrossing/roadracing my s13 in addition to frequent trips to the drag strip. please give me reasons to sway me to either because i keep hitting a stalemate with my reasoning. thanks.

If you are planning on doing serious racing I would either go with Tein HE, or the N-1's. You didn't specify which Tein's you were looking at. Also, have you considered JIC?

tein flex are more of a streetable coilover, while the N1 is a more track oriented coilover...this is what i've heard anyhow...almost apples to oranges...

if you want similar coils, compare tein HE and apex N1

yeah i'm with MainEvent212.....Quote »tein flex are more of a streetable coilover, while the N1 is a more track oriented coilover...this is what i've heard anyhow...almost apples to oranges...[/quote]if you do some research on the flex's, the feedback will be that it is more street oriented, i'm not sure about the N1 how stiff there springs are but the HE's are 8 in the front and 6 in back, and man, at first the ride was very harsh. but after autocrossing, i love them, even for daily driving now. i have almost no body roll :asmile

i wouldn't advise getting the HE's or the N1 (if they are similar to the HE's spring rate) if you live with alot of potholes or a bad back.

but i do like the Flex because of the remote damper setting. i'm lazy like that.....

good luck on your decision....

if you are honestly going to road race the car, get the N-1 or a tein HE(at a minimum) possibly a RE or RA...

the flex will be valved to conservatively for battering road race use..-chet
