Ok sooooo my g/fs car wouldnt start the other day....and i couldnt get out there to fix it so her friend changed the starter. in the process he touched the starter to something metal and it sparked and s***....he didnt disconnect the battery which was a big mistake. but now it wont start. i checked all the wiring in the engine bay, from the passenger side fuse box the the driver side, i even rewired the whole trans harness there were no shorts in it but i checked it all. i checked the ecu its fine, the relay for acc and egi pump will click when it tries to start, and so will one behind the fuse box on the driver side. i have no f***ing idea what it is! i ripped the dash out, the fuse box, everything i can think of. i changed the connector on the back of the ignition and that didnt help.

what happens is when u try to start it it wont start, and when u turn the key off the battery light stays on and so does the oil light, and then the temp gauge will go all the way to H. also the module thing under the center console will make a weird noise too.... i really have NO IDEA what it is! if anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it. she has no other car soo it a big pain in the a** for me ive been tearing it apart for 2 days with no success. i was thinking it was a short but i cant find any melted wires or anything like that. it has to be some sort of switch or something.O and its a 1989 coupe with an sr swap

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me!

ok first off a gf who drives an sr 240. lucky man. second comb every power wire you can find. somewhere it is grounding. even slightly. had this happen on the body harness of a ca and the starter (probably more of your problem) of a ka. main power is grounding somewhere or another.

Have you checked that giant 75 amp fuse under the hood?

have you tried disconnecting the starter? maybe its the problem. is it possible that you got a bad one and its grounding out. maybe the sparking s*** is just throwing you off. get back to basics stick a multimeter where the starter goes, is it getting a signal from the ignition? have the battery tested, maybe the sparking fried it.
