please help! lights on without a key!

hi i just bought my 3rd 240sx before i do anything to it im trying to solve this problem. i put the key in the ignition turn it to the "on" position my taillights,fender and rear bumper lights come on and the light switch is NOT on. On the gauge cluster my seatbelt,door(if open) ,and e-brake lights up like normal but...when i turn the key to the "off" position the taillights and corner light go off but my gauge cluster lights stay on! the car acts like the key is still in the ignition? please help me if you can or give me some pointers!
