I was doing my boy a favor and hooked up his amp and sub in his 97 240. I was looking for a place to screw down the amp and I decided to drill some holes in the part of the car between the back seat and the rest of the trunk. It kinda goes up like a hill if that makes any sense. Was that the gas tank???? Was it a fuel line? I pulled out the drill bit and I smelled gas! Now his car reeks of gas! Is there anything I can do to plug it up?

may have been tank or a line. hopefully it was just an evaporative emmisions line as that is cheaper and safer to have broke. you will need to get under the car to really find out though. lots of fuel stuff right under there.

if it was the tank, there is a special epoxy putty formulated for tank repairs. theyll have it at any autoparts store. should be an easy fix but you have to jack up the rear of the car either way to get at it. place the jack under the differential housing. and the stands under the solid looking lowest curved point on each side of the sub frame. crawl under there, find it, and patch that sucker.

good luck
