OK I have a 1995 240 sx se ,no abs no lsd , made before feb 95 all I have done is a drop in k&n , hks cat back, unsprung clutch and the b&m shifter, the problem is one day my check engine light came on and the car started to sputer under constant speed and only after the car heats up. I start my car no problem drive reg and hard no prob but after it heats up say about 20-30 miles of driveing it starts to sputer and sometimes after sputering ther is no throttle until the rpms drop to 2400 then it is fine . if I push in the clutch and rev it the motor revs fine then i let out the clutch and the car is fine it accelerates like usual but when i let off the gas and press it again it sputers and the no throttle again. also the car stalls when i stop not to often but it does starts right back up no prob. the engine code i got was twelve 1 slow flash pause then 2 quick flashes this is a code for a mas air sensor i replaced it with a used 1 from the junk yard with in 10 minutes got the engine light agian and it threw the 12 again now i have thought that i might of bought a faulty mas air but before i went to return it I have replaced the fuel filter and o2 senser now i will be changeing my plugs but i wanted to see if you guys had any other ideas

check you wiring to your airflow meter also check your air intake tube infront of the throttle body for cracks in the valleys of the flex. on the wiring check have the car idling and grab the harness off the meter and move it around see if the idle gets all stupid.also do the test at 2500 rpms. if it happens check your ground wire primairly. did the car run like s*** with the replacement meter?

Also check your throttle position sensor.

Don't hold me to this, but I have "heard" the oil in a k&N filter can cause problems with the mass air flow senson. Just an idea, try cleaning up the sensor with some degreaser and then put in a stock air filter. Again, somebody correct me if I am wrong about this, it is only something I heard and could very well be wrong.

no it is mostly correct the oil will damage an air flow meter. as far as cleaning it i dont know bout that. I have seen it mentioned on here many times
