please help!! gauge cluster problem!!!

ok my gauge cluster is perfect...almost..the damn thing works in every way EXCEPT it doesnt lite up when i turn on my lights at night. all the gauges work otherwise and all the notification lights also work. i have just changed the contact sheet on the back to no avail. what should i check next? the only other things i can think are fuses, cluster broken or the harness is gone. please help!!

if you got HUD thats the prob it controlls the backlights

no hud. its just the standard s13 hatch cluster. i have replaced fuses and still dont work.

TCU, white box thing near the kick panel fuses

and how do i check that? or should i just replace it? will this effect the things that would normally light up when you turn your lights on? cause none of that stuff does at the moment either. also would this effect my rev lights too? cause they stopped working the other day when i replaced all the fuses that were the wrong ones.

take it off... take off the white cover. look at the board and look for anything burnt or unusual. you probably wont miss it. anyway, when you find it.... try to get a used one from someone parting out their car.

my dash lights werent working when i bought the car, bought a used tcu from somoene parting out their car and its worked every since

is it small or large and is it above the fuse panel or in front of?

umm... closer to the door i think ?... lol

i forgot, sorry. it should be held on by like 2 screws i think. its like 2x2 inches or something
