97 240 SE Just installed a Viper 791 alarm everything was ok except a few things, all other functions were ok for about 3 days 1. Remote start would try to start but would not crank long enough to turnover.

2. Shock sensor would not set off alarm.

3. Could not get the tach signal to read/program with the valet button and indicator light.

Plugged in the instrument cluster to see if tack was reading, nothing except fuel would read, I think this might be a ground issue but not sureTried to make sure had the right wire for tach signal from ECU.Car was running then slowed down in rpm untill it finally died tried to restart and would not turnover at all just clickJumped the battery car started fine, would run once other battery was removed car would die withn 5 min and same not turnng over.

Also now the alarm does not chirp when arming or disarmingWhen try to remote start starter just clicksChecked alternator seems okAlso tried diconneting the alarm but same result car dies

Thats the info any clue as to what is draining the battery that quick all of the sudden, never had this trouble before

where'd you tap the relay for the remote start? That should deal with 1.

2. adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor.

if you had this alarm installed at a shop, have them redo it. If you did it, good luck you're going to be pretty much on your own since the rest of us here have no idea what wires you've tapped/spliced into.
