ok i just put in my new clutch and pressure plate, before i did this my clutch was slipping nasty style. ok here's my problem, when im in 4th gear going around 40mph and i release the gas peddle it makes a rubbing sound, this has never happened w/ my old clutch, and it only happens on 4th gear around 40mph, once it drops to 35mph it's normal again. This has me kinda worried i try to avoid 4th gear for a week now, but was wondering if any one had any suggestions on what i could do. One of my friends told me it could be that i didnt torque my flywheel tight enough, does anyone know the actual torque spec for the fly wheel.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, any suggestions would be great...thanks

it sounds like you got a unsprung clutch. Thats normal and you just shouldnt use the engine for braking anymore. I think the flywheel torque limit is 105, by the way.

ok cool so the sound is normal thats good to hear, and torque limit is 105, so anything lower than that will do right? cause i torqued it at 55, i hope thats okay cause taking out the transmission manualy is hell, it took me 4 hrs just to get the transmission off. but thanks for your help.

you torqued what at 55? the flywheel should be around 120 i think. i had to take my transmission off twice after i installed my spec stage 2 clutch because i put the TO bearing on wrong. i was pissed but it took 1/2 the time to take it off the 2nd time. i had it off, fixed, and back on the car in one evening, about 3 full hrs of work. took 3 days the first time.
