1995 240sx se

370's / safc II/ msd btm/ wastegate set at 4.35/ ( t3/t4 50/.63)

I just got my car running the other day and it was idling rough but steady

I noticed and oil leak from the t-connection that connects my electric oil sender.

i went back to the the gauge and noticed that the pressure was dropping and i shut it off around 13 psi. I'm worried that the oil leak may have caused oil starvation. The only thing is that the engine lost way less than a quart of oil. It was only very slowly driipping out of the T.

I teflon taped the connection and reconnected the oil lines.

Today now I can't get the car to idle for more than 30 seconds. It just shuts off. The oil pressure is reading around 70 to start and then starts dropping as the car starts shuttering to a halt. Any throttle input i give just delays the inevitable with a lot of backfiring in the interum.

During the time I was fixing the oil leak the only changes I made was adding the IAT to the intake piping.

I'm so close to getting up and running after months of effort. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

try messing with the dec. air settings on the safc and see if that helps

How did you set your SAFC? Still using the stock MAF?

If it is backfiring, it sounds like it is running rich.

I have the z32 maf. I can't get the car to idle well enough to pick up the settings for the dec air.

currently SAFC settings are -22 across the board

sounds like massive vacuum leak to me. Check IC piping connections?

Thanks everybody for the info. I actually got it up in running yesterday. I switched the safc settings to 1 in and 6 out. It's now idling rough but steady. I'm also going to check around for a vacuum leak. My vac gauge is reading 22.3 inches of mercury or something like that. Will this tell me anything about a vac leak?

well at a normal idle (1k or so) you ar pulling the correct amount of vacuum, so that isnt the problem...
