I'm currently dealing on my first Altima coupe. It is a 2011 2.5 S and from my research I think the asking price is really good. The problem is, I love heated leather seats, and this car has nonheated cloth. Can anyone give me estimations on the cost involved in converting to heated seats, assuming that is even possible? I called the nearest Nissan dealer but they were not helpful so I am desperate for this info. Thanks!

Welcome to NICO!

Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to convert your seats into heated seats. I would try to find a coupe with the leather package. Your dealer should be able to find one of those easily (unless you're looking for a six speed manual transmission). It's close to the end of the year, so they should be able to make you a good deal.

Don't settle for less than what you want, you'll only regret it later! There are plenty of these things out there, you just have to do a little digging to find the exact one you want.

Good luck and fire back with any other questions!

Thanks XenonSE-R and Nissansp for your info and encouragement!

I totalled my car ten days ago, after hitting a really large buck while traveling at 65mph on the interstate. My insurance only covered the car rental for a week so out of necessity I have had to give up my obsessively methodical approach to decision- making (hours of research, torturous contemplation of pros and cons, wheedling opinions out of everyone I know---you get the picture) Hence, my desperate post from yesterday.

The good news is, I did think a lot about what you said concerning not settling for less than what I really want and have turned my attention to a 2009 2.5 with premium and convenience packages. It's being sold by a reputable dealer, the carfax and carchex look good and all three of my test drives have been problem free. My mechanic is going to go over the car tomorrow and let me know what he thinks.

Anything I should know about this year/ model? Anything I may be overlooking? Any thoughts on what you would consider to be a good deal on this car? (one owner, red, 27,000 miles, interior and exterior appear to be in very good condition with a 3 inch shallow scratch on the rear bumper the only cosmetic defect I could find).

Again, thanks for your support and willingness to share your knowledge!

Mine is exactly like yours except silver and 15k miles and no sunroof. Got it for 18k.

I wish I got the premium package. Couldn't afford it though. The only things that comes to my mind to "look out for" are:

1) the acceleration "lag" which others have experienced. CVT only I believe

2) Rust on the door hinge area

Make them fix the scratch in the bumper too. I cant believe they would even attempt to sell it like that.
