Thanks. Well I don't really know what he did. The first day after he installed there was no lights. The hubs and cables are all new after market.Rogue Jarhead wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 4:57 amAftermarket speed sensors are hit and miss. Amazon has an entire set, 4 wheeels for about $60. Or you can buy 2 front or 2 rear or individuality. Normally I would say buy OEM but the sensors are over $100 each amazons are about $20 ea. If the code reader is still showing the left sensor, then something is still not quite right with the left sensor. Another member on this forum has used the amazon sensors and reported success.
It could be the aftermarket hubs themselves. I would only use Timken, Moog or FAG, anything else other than OEM is cheap junk. By the way OEM means you would buy it from the dealer, not because it says “OEM supplier” or some such on the box.
When you live in the salt belt like I do speed sensors are imposssible to get out without a drill, hammer, punch and a small round file to clean the hole up.
Check the distance between the sensor end and the hub compare it to the side that seems to be working. There is a thin disk on the back of the hub that the sensor “reads”. Did the mechanic bend the thin disk that snaps into the back of the hub? Did he reuse the old disk/ring? They get pretty crusty. Did he leave the disk out? Is the sensor fully seated in the hole? Was the hole cleaned up or did he just push or tap the new sensor into place? Once the old sensor is removed and the hole cleaned properly the new one should just slide right into place.
When you achieve success, if I recall correctly the lights will go out by themselves.
wow that's cheap. But they dont ship to Canada.Rogue Jarhead wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2017 8:16 pmIf they worked for a day then the sensor itself probably failed. They are very easy to remove when they are new and don’t need to be hammered out. For the left sensor turn the wheel all the way to the right shut the car off. There is a single either 10 or 12 mm bolt right on the hub that holds the sensor, the sensor is identifiable by the wires leading out of it.
Remove that bolt and the sensor will slide right out. Follow the wire up to the back of the wheel well it just plugs into a connector. They are a clip style connector. Separate the connector. That’s it installation is in reverse order. Of course jacking the vehicle up and removing the tire allows much easier access.
All those lights you describe can and probably are the result of one inferior sensor. Here’s the cheap amazon sensor double check on figment. The Nissan ones are over $100 if I remember. At $16 you can buy a lot of sensors before you get to $100.

yes I wanted to buy 2 more sesors, and install them. however its going to take a long time to be delivered to canada. I hope that the sensors are the only problem not the hubs as wellRogue Jarhead wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2017 6:32 pmCertainly someone must sell them and gladly to Canada. I don’t understand why this guy wouldn’t.
Normally I suggest never using Chinese parts but for the wheel sensors it’s too great of a price difference to ignore. There was a member here on the forum that used them about a year or so ago and they worked. Are you planning on changing out that sensor? With the right wrench an a very small flat blade screwdriver you can install a new sensor in about 10 minutes. The small, screwdriver is to help separate the plugin connector.
