PLEASE HELP! 92 240sx!

alright im at the end of my rope here, first im going to start off with a list of mods. the car is a 1992 240sx with a 1990 ca18det:

gt28r turbo
450cc dsm injector
z32 maf
malary fpr
apexi safc 2
apexi n1 full exhaust 3" inch
14psi
255 walboro fuel pump.

been working on this car everyday since summer started, really beginning to hate it, but right now i have a problem i can NOT figure out. the car is bogging under full throttle rev, and if i dont let it warm up, its barely driveable. (once warm drives ok, but still hesitates/bogs just not as bad) seems to be right around 3000 rpms is the most bogging, but before and after that, it doest it randomly as well. today i changed the oil, oil filter (royal purple) spark plugs, really just a tune up hoping it would help, nothing, i also bought a new z32 maf from a kid i know, nothing. also borrowed a tps from that same friend to see if it would work, nothing. cleaned the connections for the coil packs and the maf itself, got new bolts for the coil packs (had some missing) and checked all vacuum lines, still nothing. always the same problem. NOW, after all of that, the car started to profusely pour white smoke out of the exhaust, occasionally (last night and this morning) car took FOREVER to start, i can smell gas, and when i replaced my plugs the old ones were covered in fuel. im at a complete loss and any help would be greatly appreciated. car IS running rich, but has been that way since ive owned it, (tuned for 15psi, i usually run at 12) i just want my car to run well :squint:

Your issues start with your AFC, that z32 afm and your dsm injectors. If it's frustating you that much, then you need to remove those components, put the car back to stock and cross this road when you get better info on how it's properly done.

Frunzman,

You have an adjustable FPR.....do you have a fuel pressure gauge? What process did you use to set your fuel pressure at the fuel rail? You might have 450cc's....and you might have an SAFC.......and even if the SAFC is set up correctly to recognize that you have 450's and a Zmaf.......if your adjustable FPR isn't set right the injectors+walbro can flow more than 450cc and the car will run rich and bog down.

yesterday i lowered the throttle% on the safc2. it actually ran much much better, and then when i was on my way home from work, my maf crapped out. i was getting a 0-5% volatage reading on the afl and the afl itself was going from 0-51 in under a second, i had the spare so changed it over and it ran well enough to get home (when it wasnt working i couldnt go over 2500 rpms) BUT when i got home i switched it back and it ran fine again. i bought the car with the current upgrades, and it ran terrific when i bought it, what scares me is a lot of the wiring is rigged and not done properly, slowly but surely ive been trying to get everything wired correctly. (back to the main points) i DO have a fuel pressure gauge and its running about 40 at idle. its not that its frusturating me ive had turbo cars in the past, but everytime i fix it, it runs good for the test run, i assume its fixed and next time i drive it its screwed up again. my main problem right now, is under full throttle, bogs bad about 2-3000 rpms, BUT if i only run half throttle it runs fine, which leads me to believe i was running rich and thats what was cutting me off, but i lowered all of the throttle% to account for that and its still the same. as i said im starting to get white smoke, so im wondering if maybe my turbo is starting to go? havent pulled it off yet to feel for shaft play, trying the easy fixes first.

car ran well for quite some time before all of this started happening, my next course of action will probably be to check the knock sensor, at this point its not that the car isnt driveable, once engine is at running temp its ok as long as i dont floor it, and if i do floor it, once it stumbles past the 2-3000rpms it pulls like a mother, now im also starting to hear some engine noise at those rpms, almost sounds like a valve tap, but i would imagine unless they were bent (and if they were wouldnt it run like s*** all the time?) that wouldnt cause this problem. appreciate your quick replies mbm and boost boy.
