Ok here it is. I have a 91 nissan h/b truck. its got the 4cyl ka motor, 5speed transmission. so the other day i went to the car wash to vacum it out and when i went to leave the truck acted like the battery was dead. i had a friend come give me a jump and when i tried to start it we noticed that it was smoking from under the hood. the battery has been relocated to the bed but where it used to be there were some wires that got cut and arced. it was the 4ga wire that goes to the starter and two smaller say 6 gauge white wires. i have fixed the wires but now when i turn the key i get nothing. the headlights work along with the dashlights, clock and hazards. it basically acts like you dont have the key in the ignition, u get no radion no blinkers nothing. i took the steering collum apart and im getting no juice to the switch. ive checked all the fuses and they are all good. we did find a relay that was fried so i replaced it and nothing. i took the seats out and tried to put the ecu in diagnostic mode but i dont think its getting power either. i see two leds but neither one does anything.

Can anyone please help. im usualy very good at fixing problems but im at a loss. please please help

Check the fuse block under the dash and the main fuse/breaker box under the hood. There may be a blown fuse in the 'under hood' location.

You stated there was arcing so chances are this is what the problem is.

Its your fusible links that attach to the battery itself.
