I bought a brand new 2020 Pathfinder sv tech rock creek back in Oct. 2020. Since day 1 I have been plagued with electrical issues.

Right off the bat the nav screen would randomly start changing stations, switching between settings and functions on the touch screen. It would also cycle the hvac settings. I would have the heater on full blast (Canadian winter) and it would randomly jump to AC, back to heating and fan speed will incrwase/decrease on its own.

On top of that the SXM signal would stop working (even in a perfectly clear area where the signal is fine). If you changed sxm stations the new station would work for less then a second and cut out again. I could drive an infinite amount of km's and the singal would not come back. If I turned the pathfinder off and right back on it will work fine again ( or atleast till it randomly glitched again). Local am fm radio works fine.

I have had the Pathfinder into the dealership at least 7 or 8 times (upto 2 weeks at a time). They have replaced the head unit (touch screen) which fixed the random cycling through the stations and menues. However the issues with the sxm stations were not resolved. I have since had the Pathfinder in a number of more times. They have replaced the antenna, all the wiring and pretty much everything that has anything to do with the sxm/radio. However 8 months and 20,000km later and this issue is still going on. The dealership keeps trying to wash there hands of this saying its bad reception on sxm's side of things. However like I mentioned I can be sitting in the middle of an empty parking lot where I get perfect reception have it glitch, turn OFF the pathfinder, turn it right back on and it will work. And SXM signal at same time os fine on my phone. Seems to me that would be an issue with one of the trucks electrical components (ie the antenna or a module?) More than an sxm issue?

I did try searching but nothing really helpful pops up. Have any of you had this issue or know someone who has and might have a fix or suggestion? Maybe a second bad sxm antenna on the pathfinder?

The wife and I are getting pretty frustrated with this situation. I payed good money for a NEW vehicle and expect it to work properly (or atleast be fixed under warranty in a timley matter). I understand electrical issues can be a pain in the a** to trace, but 8 /9 months is getting ridiculous.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I forgot to mention this is NOT the Bose system if it makes any difference.

Thanks and sorry for the long post.

This could be a phone issue, especially if you have Apple(s). Try deleting your bluetooth link(s) for a few days and see if the problems go away. Apple is frankly awful about moving the furniture in their iOS's without telling anybody, and it causes all sorts of wonky problems with the AV's.

It's not a phone issue. The SXM is part of the vehicals. Not run off a phone.

Suit yourself, but SXM is part of the AV system and I've personally seen phones cause problems in every aspect of AV operation, no exceptions.

VStar650CL I know what your getting at, we have simular issues with RF signals causing interference with communicating HVAC equipment.
We have run the pathfinder without any cell phones in it and it still dose it.
I do appriciate the help/suggestion!!!
