well I just did a JDM motor swap into my 90 standard g50 after the last motor dropped a rod bolt. Here are my problems.1st brake peddle has no movment and therefore the brakes will hardly work. You push the brake peddle and it moves maybe 3/4 of an inch and feels like you are pushing on solid ground.

Well while I was testing the brakes ability to hold the car still against the power of the motor in gear I appearently screwed up something else. Now the transmission pattern is all screwed up. Neutral is a forward drive gear, reverse sems to be neutral park seems to b neutral also. The car also will not rev past about 2500 3000 RPMs in any gear. What the hell have I done. Trans got drained while out of the car and I added a cooler and refilled it with M1 fluid.

Any insight to what I have doen would be nice.

you just need to adjust the linkage on the trans...

Are you getting any CEL or ECU codes?

Did you plug the vaccum line for the booster?

My guess would also be the vaccum line for the brake booster.

Well the trans worked yesterday and the brakes did not. While trying to figure out the brakes the trans got screwed up. Brake booster line was inspected and removed to check everything and all seems well. Hooked it back up and added new clamps.

Could overfilling of the trans cause it to act up? There arrears to be some blackish liquid coming from the top of teh transmission. What the hell could that be?

So are the brakes working now? If not check the direction of the check valve... maybe it's reversed?

I have had it in both ways with no real change. Is it possoble that when the motor blew up it sent metal into the brake booster causing my problem? There was metal present in the manifold.

How do I get the trans out of failsafe? Why would it suddenly go into failsafe?
