Hi all,

I have been ruminating on what to do with my car for quite a while and have come up with this general plan. I will have to admit that I am a general newbie with cars, but I like tweaking and this car is my next subject. This is mainly to have a daily driver, I might do autocross one day, but definetly not a drifter.

I have come up with this general plan but, I need to know that I am not making any mistakes or missing oportunities.

Presently have a 1989 s13 fastback 240sx, badly in need of body work

Phase I - Interior comfort

New stereo and speakers - doneFix ACReupholster interior - have new GTS - t seats waiting to go in

Phase II - Suspension & drive train (realy need help here)

S15 HLSD - have this waiting to go inSuspension techniques sway barsNismo power braceTein Flex with EDFCNew bushing - which set?Should I consider new control arms

Phase III - New engine and transmission swap

RB25det with manual transmission swap - for fun driving, no street racing, hoping for about 350/375whp

Phase IV - New body and wheelsConsidering Abflug RPs13, Bumper type II maybe with Grim lights - so cool

Abflug kit

or simply the Nismo s14 side skirts and rear, with G-grow 180sx Ideal ver. II Aero Kit - cheaperg-grow kitnismo sides & rearIt will look something like the clearcorners car, but betterclearcorners

Big brake kitWheels/tyres, not sure yet; maybe 17" Nismo with9" on back and 8.5" on front.

thats the gist of it...I know it might be cheaper to buy a new car, but I enjoy doing this stuff so I am looking forward to doing this over the next 18 months or so.

Please comment freely

TIA

:D

Personally I would do suspension/drivetrain first, and then new engine/transmission. Followed by exterior, and lastly but definitely not least interior comfort.

Suspension/control is everything, then having the power to utilize that suspension and control comes next, then making the car look good while going fast should be the next step followed by making it nice on the interior.

Do you just have money coming out of your ***? Thats alot of work ! Best of luck,I've said my $0.01 (not worth the full 2 cents :( )

350hp isn't hard to reach/break with an rb25

Well, I figure it will cost quite a bit of money, but I think there's no substitute for the thrill of going out for a drive each time I add a new element to see how much better the car feels. I intend to do it in stages as I have the money.

With respect to the order of activities, I want to enjoy being in the car at all times even if it is not yet perfect. I want it to look like a sleeper till the very last moment when the body work goes on.

Big parts will be the engine/trans and the bodywork, but damn, what a thrill it will be to drive.

I do need some helpful critisism though especially with the suspension... I have included the parts I know and understand, but are there any parts I am not considering that would make the investment better?

I take it that that since there are no comments that there is nothing wrong with this basic plan...

I like the plans but I would get rid of the kit and just get a Kouki or Wangan spoiler and maybe a lip. It's funny I thought I was the only person who sat on his computer and typed out the dfferent phases for his car. :)

Since you already started on interior comfort, next I'd say work on suspension and brakes. Then engine and what not because, you don't want to have crap brakes while making 350 WHP right? I know you don't need brake upgrades until then, but better safe than sorry.
