The 07 sedan uses a new- "high-flow tuned induction system" (dual intake plenum) along with Continuously variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust. I believe the 06 was only the intake...

This is why you see a bump in HP, but a drop in TQ.

Before I get flamed for asking this...just trying to understand why the added HP @ higher RPM, but loss of TQ. Is it the tuning of the engine that drops the TQ....the engine size didn't change. Does it have to do with emissions? I know it's kind of like tires...you get one thing but you sacrifice something else....Is it the same with engines....HP, TQ and Fuel Consumption being the 3 variables?

Would the higher rev engine go better with the 6-speed manual trany...Wouldn't it be better to tune the engine for either a manual or auto (Like the G35 coupes). The auto would benefit better from the higher TQ? If it was me I would like to have both a High Reving / TQ beast under my hood and oh well about the fuel comsuption...until gas gets to 4/gal and then I will be changing my tune!! Are there any plans to make a G with a V8?

You Canadians and your Metric system are messing me up LOL!I'll never get used to all that mm kph.........I don't think you would feel that 2 pounds of torque at 4800 rpm.But I bet you'll feel that extra 26 hp.......

InfinitiTech or Q, can you guys shed some light on the specifics of what makes the HP increase but TQ decrease in the new engine design in the 07 Sedan?

I know it has to do with the valve timing...
