P0138 is "Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1)"

This shows the location of all the oxygen sensors. Bank 1 sensor 2 is the bottom rightmost sensor shown.

P0138 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1)P0139 - Heated Oxygen Sensor 2 Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1)

You can buy O2 Sensor from NGK.com (@$90) or IoS (Infiniti of Scottsdale a.k.a. infinitipartsUSA.com >$125). Better call them instead of ordering on-line so you can give the VIN number, diagnostic code and other info about your problem. You have a better chance of getting the right O2 sensor that you need. Joe from IoS is very helpful to NICO member.

If you know how to splice wires, you can save money by buying universal O2 sensor @ $50 from Walker (oxygensensors.com) or Bosch (Boschoxygensensor.com). But you have to make sure whether you need the 3-wire or 4-wire sensor. Typical heated O2 sensor has 3 wires for Signal, Power and Ground. A 4-wire sensor has an additional wire for a dedicated Signal Ground (better in case of corrosion on the tailpipe).

A PB Blaster/WD-40 and an O2 Sensor Adapter (@ $10) will come in handy during sensor removal.

On my 95 I delayed changing out mine but had to deal withlots of "false" codes caused by my procrastination.

After I changed it out, the codes quit appearing.
