I am going to go out on a limb and say no... Logically speaking, I have never attempted it myself but for good reason..

Reasons:

* Being a six cylinder the cas will have six points of light producing the on/off signal

* The signal path to the ECU would also most likely be different as a result of the above point

* The actual position of the cas pin is quite possibly different to the cas pin alignment on the CA

* No point in trying to substitute an apple with an orange, having issues and then trying to forum fix it, when CA cas's are readily available...

I have seen a couple of people selling CAS's for CA's on this forum recently so it shouldn't be too difficult to locate one..

Hope this helps you..

your best friend...the nissan online parts cataloguehttp://nissan4u.com/parts/

handiest thing ever, just make sure you know the engine code you are looking for, because these don't exactly match our domestic market vehicles, since some of these engine and vehicles aren't domestic to us.

Don't take it apart..

The easiest method (quick and dirty) is to:

* Remove the CAS from the timing cover* Remove the coil packs but keep them connected to the loom* Remove the spark plugs and insert in each coil pack* Rest the coil packs somewhere where you can see the spark from each plug* Plug the CAS in, turn the ignition to "on only"* Spin the CAS by hand and watch each coil pack for spark and listen for the injector click, they should happen very close to simultaneously* If either one doesnt happen through the cycle, there is possible issues with the CAS and you should try a different (new or otherwise) CAS to see if the issue is replicated in the same manner

Now this will not 100% point to the CAS being an issue as there are other variables that impact the operation of the CAS, but it will eliminate possibilities..

Hope this helps you
