Please advise, Car will not crank, will run if you push start the car

Hello,

I have a problem with my 95 240sx. The engine will not crank, will ran only if you push start it. Now, I push start the car and it will not even ran.I was guessing it might be the starter. I tried to manually crank the starter by putting the + to the - wire of the starter. When i did this the car will not even run if you push start it. Please advise on what can i do or diagnose what is wrong with the car.
