Pleas Help S14 VLSD into S13!!
Sorry to post another thread about LSD tried to search but did not find a clear answer. I picked up a S14 LSD from a junkyard, I got the pumpkin and the out-put shafts. Now my question what all do i need to do in order to install this into my S13. On the S14 Diff in the front i only got one of the bushings if this matters. Please tell me what needs to be done and what parts or anything else needs to be purchased to install. P.S. I know about swapping the rear cover, but am uncertain about the rest please help.Thanks!!!
I've installed 2 94 j30 vlsds (s14 style) into 2 s13's. I had the axles both time, so I installed those as well. you'll need a gasket for the rear cover (~$4 from advance), some good gear oil, and a cutting wheel or hacksaw to knock off the little vertical metal nubs on the front mounting brackets/pads...if that makes sense. You'll also want some washers that are larger than the bushings on the front mounting brackets/pads of the diff to put around the front carrier bolts, else the bolts will start to pull the bushings out, and the diff will start slamming around (how do you think I figured that one out?).
