Does anybody have any experience with this or know anybody that does??I just want a way to run my intake the other way as opposed to over the valve covers. Its either that or i have an rb26 intake laying around that i will have welded up to my spare lower manifold runners. I might just do it like drifting is lame though and do custom piping.

I would weld that RB26 mani to your stock.I have a Top Hat Upper Plenum and its Eh....The plazmaman one is crazy $$You might as well spend the extra $$ and get the RIPS mani.

I like the idea of using a good upper plenium like the plazaman. It all depends on what you want to do with the car. In theory if you have longer intake runners then you will have better low end power(good for a street car) and the shorter runners are good for high end power(drag racing). when i switched to a short runner manifold i also change to big turbo and big cams so i cant tell you how big of a difference there is.

I believe that's more expensive than the RIPS manifold, I dont know why in the world you'd use that over the RIPS.

If you want a same side manifold, at least buy one thats designed to have fluid flow from that direction, (RIPS), the plazmaman intake is using lower runners that are designed for a cross over upper intake, and converting to a same side design.

Personally I trust nissans design more than their rigged up, over priced, same side, half manifold.

I'd buy the RIPS or stay stock. Gibson r31 had 450 hp and a stock RB20 intake manifold.

Take from that what you will.

I think i will weld up the rb26 manifold to the 20 runners. Has anybody done this with any positive or negative feedback and experience??? I think ive seen one setup like this on here somewhere

But like you said the stock setup is still pretty solid with just modified piping like youve got. Are you running blow through on your setup Driftingislame, and wheres your bov??

BOV is on the hotside going into the intercooler, MAF is right after.

I have an RB26 plenum that I considered welding as well, but I just thought about how much work, welding, and custom fab you need to do and decided against it. You have to weld on a flange for your throttle body, you IACV, and run some vacuum lines, etc. Its just a ton of work for a not so proven mod. I thought about doing it out of convenience and looks. In reality, there's nothing wrong with the stock intake manifold under 500 hp, it has and can make that much power. The only problem is that its kind of ugly and inconvenient to get to your coils/plugs, and injectors with. The stock manifold flows well, and has long runners to match the RB20's craptastic torque characteristics.

Welding aluminum sucks anyway.

Here's some more pics of RB20 and RB25 plenums.

That design looks like total garbage for flow... Get a real manifold or make one yourself.

I am planning on running the rb26 intake welded to the rb20 runners, but I want to use the rb26 ITB's as well.

My plan is to get a flange cut that I can bolt up the ITB's to. Then I will cut the lower half of my stock manifold and weld the flange to that.

Should look something like this, but with about an inch more on the runners.

Edit: and with the ITB's mounted the right way

You can't go wrong with either a RIPS or Plazmaman. They are both insanely good manifolds and their price reflects it. Top of the line. Just look at the volume of the plenum versus that of the Greddy. It DWARFS the Greddy. If I had $1200 laying around, I'd go for it, but Greddy is decent for only 2/3 the price.

It bolts up to the stock lower manifold. You might have to drill out one of the holes a little bigger on the lower manifold becuase it is threaded. If you go the route of welding on the stock manifold make sure you machine the gasket surface because it will probably warp.
