BOV is on the hotside going into the intercooler, MAF is right after.
I have an RB26 plenum that I considered welding as well, but I just thought about how much work, welding, and custom fab you need to do and decided against it. You have to weld on a flange for your throttle body, you IACV, and run some vacuum lines, etc. Its just a ton of work for a not so proven mod. I thought about doing it out of convenience and looks. In reality, there's nothing wrong with the stock intake manifold under 500 hp, it has and can make that much power. The only problem is that its kind of ugly and inconvenient to get to your coils/plugs, and injectors with. The stock manifold flows well, and has long runners to match the RB20's craptastic torque characteristics.
Welding aluminum sucks anyway.
