So as said before the audio system leaves a lot to be desired. One of which is the lack of ability for a playlist. So I decided to write a program that would essentially make a playlist for me. What this does is read a playlist file, and then write the files to the compactflash and time stamp each file with a date created in sequence of the songs on the playlist being copied. Thus creating a playlist.
Using the app:
1/ Whatever application you are using as an mp3 player, you should be able to export your playlist as an *m3u file. Save that somewhere you can find it.
2/ When you first start the program it starts with the default destination as your C drive...because I have no idea what your CF drive letter is, so you'll have to change that. ONLY put the drive LETTER. No colon or backslash.
3/ Set your "Sleep Time" according to the capabilities of your computer. Decent settings are from 50-500 (1000 = 1 sec). This is needed to properly write the time stamp, and this obviously can slow down the process. But go ahead and try 0, if it works for you , it works.
4/ Save (you don't have to worry about doing that again, it is permanent until you change it.)
5/ Click playlist, find the file. The program will create a folder in the root of the CF named after the playlist and then starts copying the mp3s in that playlist. You will be given a progress report in the red area.
To be done (the only things):
1/ The green box on the app will automatically do the job once you drag and drop the playlist on it.
2/ Ability to automatically read WMP playlists on the computer so no need to export m3u playlists.
3/ Prevent copy if the playlist being copied will exceede file count limitation of Infiniti (512 mp3). So you don't waste time copying to find out when you get to the car you can't access the songs.
(I have no idea when I'll do these updates, the only thing I'll immediately update is if something is broken)
Tested on win7, XP and Vista should work. Anything else I dont know.
Enjoy
