I hooked my iphone up to the auxiliary inputs on my 06 M45 advanced tech package, but the video does not come through, altough the audio does. Im just trying to get this to work while the car is stopped. I'm probably missing something very obvious,

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I dont think u can output video through a regular RCA cable, because that jack is only for sound... you'd have to use an actual ipod cable & obviously we dont have that type of input in our cars (06/07 Ms.) But I could be wrong...

There is a multimedia cable that you plug into iphone and gives you RCA video and audio (3 RCA outputs. You can also plug iphone into a TV) the aux input on my 06 m45 has both the video and audio inputs.

You can also do the "Nav hack" to flip a switch and be able to get the video on the main screen even while driving the car.

Oh cool, I'm guessing u have this cable!?!? And I'm also guessing you connect it through the bottom (where you'd connect the usb cable to sync with the computer.)

I need to get that done... but mainly to input addresses while driving instead of stopping and even having to set the parking brake.

yes. Problem solved. Now I can catch up on some Netflix on a lunch break or anytime I have some time to kill in my car.

Do a search on ebay for "iphone 4 video cable" and you'll get lots of results. You will also want a usb car lighter adapter sold separately.

To complicate things, you should know that you shouldn't need the parking brake for entering addresses. Also, that the hack is much simpler if you don't need the DVD part. You can use a SPST switch and only use it to open/close the VSS connection, the parking brake connection can be left intact (the parking brake connection is the one that you ground on the NAV side, the vehicle speed sensor is the one that disables several features when moving [or maybe above a certain {very low} speed, I say this because I swear I've been able to manipulate stuff at like .5 or 1 mph, but that could just be too slow for the VSS to show]).

It depends if it has the same type of connections and Nav that our 06-07 cars have. There is a few differences in the procedure for the 08-09 models because they moved to a hard drive based navigation. So not sure at all what an 09 Maxima would need. Somewhere though you just need to splice into the VSS and parking brake signal wires that go into your nav area.
