Playing MP3s or WMA files

The manual states that you can play MP3 and WMA files.

Does anyone no how to burn these?

Can you burn DVDs and play them on the center console DVD player? What formats can you use?

*If* it can play MP3 files, it would be off of CD only I would imagine. Use Nero to burn an actual MP3 CD.

You'll need to burn it to a regular CD. An MP3 is just a data file. You would burn it the same way you burn a word document, pdf, or whatever else. Just burn as a data file

From what I have heard as well that you can burn dvd - a discs with MP3 or some sort of dvd audio format, but not sure why you'd want to do that.

because a DVD can hold more data than a CD-R I would imagine; however, I don't think it would be readable in the stereo, but quite possibly the DVD player in the arm rest... I may try that experiment.

Just write the MP3 files to a CD like any regular file. You can use the basic windows file explorer to drag and drop MP3 files into the writable CD folder and then just burn. If you want to maintain a hierarchy of songs, then keep them in separate folders on the CD. When you play this CD on M, the folders will show up first and you can select a folder to see the songs in that folder.

The DVD player cannot play MP3 files. The disk has to be in DVD, DVD-audio, audio CD or VCD format to be able to play int he DVD drive.

I did mine in I tunes. Got about 50 - 60 songs on 3 CD at 320KB/s
