Playing a DVD on front screen.
Hello. I am new to this forum. I have had my M35x (Black w/Graphite, Journey & Nav) for about a week. Although I have read the posts about the DVD/Nav hack, I just want to know if I can play a DVD through my Nav system? I don't have the MES, but the sales guy said it should work with just the Nav if the car is in park and the parking brake is on. I have had no luck getting this to work. Does it require having the MES to work or am I doing something wrong?

No console DVD player, no video anywhere (and no 5.1). The Nav unit is just that - a Nav unit.

First, welcome to the forum.
Second, you should have words with the sales manager to inform him that the sales guy is feeding false information. If the sales guy doesn't know for sure, he shouldn't be saying crap like that.
Oh, BTW, if one of your wheels should ever fall off your car, the M has a stability control system to keep your car going on the remaining 3 wheels.

Thanks for the quick responses. Now I can stop trying to play DVDs.

You don't need MES to play DVDs through the front screen, but you do need the Tech package.
The dvd unit is located in the center console under the armrest.
DVD video will not play through the Nav unit in the glove box.
