I have only been able to see one on the outside... no way in hell the dealer is going to let me, a Versa owner, drive a GT :oP Realistically, I see a 370Z in my future. That GT costs almost as much as I paid for my condo!!

When I was buying my V, the sales guy was on the phone with someone from Calilfornia buying both of the R's the dealer had allocated to them. They didn't actually have an R in stock yet, but they both got sold over the phone. I think that guy spent more $ that day than my house and my parent's house put together.

One of our Z club members who works here in Nashville at Nissan HQ brought one to our Dec. club meeting and gave rides. UNBELIEVABLE! Scary fast, with brakes to match. It just hooks up and goes thanks to the AWD system.

A true supercar in all respects (except list price).

The Nissan GTR can handle, though... funny how American cars have the grace of a landlocked boat... All I want is a 6-speed GTR, is that too much to ask?!

Yea, those ZR-1s are just like a landlocked boat, to bad they can only do the Nurburgring at 7:26. Yep, normal american junk.

I love the GT-R, but to say the ZR-1 cant handle is just a retarded statement.

While the ZR-1 is an amazing performance bargain, it's interior doesn't measure up. I'd rather be wrapped up in the leather of a 599 GTB.

If I had the money to blow on a GT-R I probably wouldn't. I'd rather save some more up for an Audi R8. Now don't flame me for this, I have a reason.

While the GT-R is an amazing performance car, I just don't know about the transmission reliability. If you use launch control you void the warranty? It's a feature that's been advertised from the get go. It's like telling me I can't put a truck into 4H/L.

If you use it and your transmission grenades, like some people have had happened to them, you need to pony up $20,000 for a new transmission. The LC feature is possibly being dropped for that reason. From what I understand, the first gear in the GR6 isn't very durable. The teeth give way after a handful of hard launches.

True, If I was spending 75-100k on a car, a GT-R wouldnt be it. Id actually probably buy a 300hp Ariel Atom, a ZX14, and slightly used Porsche Cayenne for daily driving.

As far as the GT-R and its tranmission issues, I found this amusing:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...edded

Uhhhh...

Yeah, the ZR1, CTS-V (which isn't even a supercar, it's a LUXURY SEDAN) and the Saleen S7 are landlocked boats that certainly won't eat the GTR alive and spit on it's remains.

Oh...wait. Nevermind. No they're not.

GTR for sure it's not the N.O. 1 car for this yr man...

1. it weight like retarded 2000kg2. it makes gas disappear in no time3. some basic essential stuff, rear wiper is not there

WOW.... I never know that stupid launch control will avoid the warrenty....

Btw, howcome a S7 will not outrun a GTR?? Shouldn't the Corvette is more close to the GTR, and S7 should be at the super car level?

Why would it have a rear wiper? Its not a hatch back.

Neither is a 3000GT but it had one. If you have a big enough back window you still need one. Unless you put RainX on it. That was a good thing about the 3000GT. You put RainX on your windshield and rear window...you never had to turn on the wipers even in a downpour because of the angle of them. The rain would just flow right up the window and out.

GT-R has launch control which helps it's 0-60 and 1/4 mile time. It's also got various technological nannies to help it through turns. I'm sure if a skilled driver took an S7 out and did some laps against a GT-R it'd win. It's just the cost vs. performance thing.

Lanlocked boat = Can't handle for ****.

I sat in one on press day at the LA Auto Show. I was shocked at how pedestrian the interior felt (materials, fit and finish). That said, if I win the lottery tomorrow, first thing I'd do is go get one. Is a 911 prettier? Probably, but I don't care. I'll be behind the wheel most of the time instead of staring at it in the parking garage like most bench racers do.

You just had to bring that up eh?

FYI, it's a real sore point for Nissan in terms of PR. Use of launch control (unofficial feature, btw) voids warranty. And overuse has been known to destroy the very expensive and somewhat proprietary transmission.

I did read somewhere that an Austrian or Australian company has come out with a replacement gear package for the GT-Rs that are beefier and can take multiple "launches" without tearing up the teeth...still a bad thing that you have to "upgrade" a brand new car with after market parts to be able to use a function that comes WITH the car.
