No the list does not include Pamela anderson. This month's issue has their list of the 25 most influential and desired postwar automobiles. Sorry, no 240SX's on the list. Here they are in reverse order
25. Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
24. BMW 2002
23 1957 Chevrolet Belair
22. VW Beetle (the original one)
21. Mazda Miata
20. Pontiac GTO
19. Chrysler 300 (we're talking the letter cars from the 50's)
18 Datsun/Nissan Z
17. Ferrari 458 Italia
16. Chevrolet Camaro
15. Ford Shelby Mustang
14. MG TC
13. Ferrari 275 GTB-4
12. Jaguar XK120
11. Lamborghini Countach
10. BMW 507
9. Lamborghini Miura
8. Aston Martin DB5
7 Chevrolet Corvette
6. McLaren F1
5. Mercedes Benz 300 SL Gullwing
4 Jaguar E-type
3. Shelby Cobra
2. Porsche 911
1. Ferrari 250 GTO

Interesting list. I've driven or ridden in most of them, but not quite all.

thoughts? comments?

IMHO, I would have substituted a Boss 302 mustang for the Shelby mustang, And substituted the Plymouth Superbird/Dodge Charger Daytona for the Chrysler letter cars. And substituted an Audi Quattro for BMW 507.

I'd swap out the MGTC for the MGB, but other than that great list.

Miata should be in Playgirl's top 25 list.

Why is it always the '57 Bel Air that gets the attention? The '55 was so much better looking. Was also the first year of the venerable small block V8.

And some of them are kinda generic, like Z and Mustang. The 1974 Mustang was definitely not "greatest rides" material. And the 280zx was defintely not either.

I agree with M.O.D. on this. They should elaborate more on specific year/models.

They did on some of the models:
Camaro: Their favorite was the 1967 Z28 with the 302 V8. 600 were built, mainly for customers to race the Trans Am series

Z They mentioned the original 240Z
GTO: The 1964 tri power was their favorite one
TransAM: they picked the 1977 T/a (smokey and the bandit)
ShelbyMustang: they chose the 1967 GT500
For Porsche 911, they singled out the 1973 Carrera RS lightweight
Corvette: They singled out the 1967 L89 435hp 427 big block
Countach: 1974 LP400

Glad to see the cheap and cheerful Miata listed among such outstanding peers.

The 300B is one of my 1950s favorites:

List says most influential and desired, not most likely to get you bro-raped.

you can't tell me that the original Bronco isn't more influential than the Miata.

Granted, the Scout did it first, but the Bronco did it better.

To the revival of the bare-bones sports car in america? Yes, I can. You really want a vehicle that brought the dawn of the SUV upon us on this list?

why not? it brought a DAWN of vehicles. you said so yourself. imo, that's pretty damned influential. that's 1/3 of playboy's requirements right there. it's post-war, there's 2/3. and desirable? well that's all dependent on who you're asking. there's a few cars on that list that i do not want. old school broncos are sweet.

As a former International owner, I think the Scout was actually a better vehicle, but I'm biased. Since you brought up the Bronco, which is certainly a worthy vehicle, I'm guessing Playboy limited their list to just cars. I can now think of a few other vehicles that could make the list, like the original Jeep CJ or Wagoneer or Ford F series pickup,

I don't think PB knows anything about cars. They probably asked Hemming's for a list.

Its entirely possible that they took a tally at which CEOs and executives got the most a** in which cars?
There'd be some flaws in that theory given that list though.. Weirder things have happened.

Hustler's list would include a panelside van with soundproofing.
