Play In Steering Wheel *M56x*

Hi,

First time poster here. I have a 2012 M56x with 20" aftermarket rims. I was experiencing a slow leak that was attributed to a bent wheel (front passenger), where that came from I don't know. The wheel was fixed all the tires balanced and the "fixed" wheel moved to the rear. The leak is gone but now I have considerable steering wheel play above 50mph. The mechanic at the local tire shop said it could be a bearing (he thought he heard something) but that it was tight under inspection- and that everything else looked good. What else could be going on?

Welcome to the forum. Are you still experiencing this? Apologies that no one saw this post, must've missed it.

Did the mechanic check all the components or just the bearing? Stabilizer links? Sway bar? Any noises?
