Hey guys, I've been reading up on different post about members being able to trick their radios into allowing you to play movies on your stock radio but there is nothing for Rogues. Also members being able to maintain their rear view camera on aftermarket radios. I want to combine the information provided to possibly accomplish this on the rogue since I haven't done it, but perhaps someone can give me suggestions. This is what I know. The rear view camera overrides the radio video display when you are in reverse but the audio continues working.

Sooooo,

What if we trick the radio to think its in reverse, and input audio through the AUX connector and video through RCA composite cable?

According to rdub2k4, this is the pinout for the radio's reverse signal and video input. my-pioneer-avic-d3-install-in-2012-rogu ... 68596.html

I'm thinking a switch that will put it in "DVD mode" and original stock mode. The switch will activate the reverse signal detection and take video from RCA connection instead of the camera. The audio would be coming in from the AUX connection.

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? Please provide any tips or suggestions. Thank you.

Perhaps you didn't read the whole post. What I'm saying is that I would like to feed video into the camera connection on the back of the radio. Imagine a composite video (Yellow connector) on the back of the radio, where you can connect a dvd player or something that sends video into the radio.

Ok, that clarifies it. I'm unclear on how this would work. AFAIK, there are no RCA jacks on the back of the OEM unit. How would you input the video signal? The 1st gen Rogue has a small size, low resolution screen, that doesn't lend itself well to DVD playback.

Hello!

I have a sentra 2017 with a Panasonic radio 281859MB0A CQ-FN84E2GX. I bought on eBay a harness and added a rear camera. Everything works fine, but I have two sets of guide lines. Please help me.

If you can in fact tap into the camera connection then you should be able to display whatever you like, however there may be issues with audio/image syncing coming from two different inputs, however if you use VLC or something similar on whatever your playing movies with then you can adjust it. Quality might be pretty bad but it should be doable.

In theory you would just have to tap into the video signal cables to run your RCA output and the reverse signal wire powered from a switch, but I notice some 'switch' signal wires in the diagram that may or may not need to be played with too, best thing to do is pull out the head unit as far as you can while keep it plugged in, when doing the wiring turn off the vehicle and unplug the battery pole maybe. Then just do some trial and error..
