Plastic Piece under the engine compartment.

There is a plastic cover on the underside of the engine bay that covers the radiator/fan from debris and water getting up in the engine bay. Is it necessary to use this? Mine is falling apart and now it is scraping on the road. If i take it off should i eventually replace it?

No, I don't think it's necessary. I took mine off like 6 months ago and nothing has happened. Well once a bunch of mud flew up in the engine bay, but the hose fixed that.

because of the front bumper I have, I removed that when I installed it... Ive been driving like that for over a year in MI weather and winter with crapload of salt on the roads... So far no problem
