With driver side upper timing cover off I noticed a little of the plastic broke off of the top end of slack side chain guide - this is the end of the guide that the tensioner presses against. I found the pieces in the pan earlier.
The part that is missing is not in contact with the chain. To replace the guide would require removing the main timing cover again, and I'm getting pretty tired of spending garage time with this car. I'm tempted to say scr*w it and bolt it back together as is, but better judgement tells me to replace it. It's a hard call.
Once the timing covers are removed it is not such a big deal to replace said guide is it? From the pictures it looks like tie wrap the chain, then it's one allen bolt at the pivot point.
PS do these 11051-60U04 - cam end seals fit a 1992? My local Infi dealer states the valve cover seals with one grommet and RTV per side. I just don't see anyplace these could fit.
