Plastic Cover under the shift knob

I hate to beat a dead horse w/ shift knob talk, but what did some of you use to take that plastic piece off under the shift knob? Brute force? Jaws of life]

i used a heat gun to warm it up then wiggled it around with some force, maybe u can cut into it with a head blade. yes that plastic piece was a pain in the @ss.

which knob are u going for?

I was figuring I was going to need some kind of heating element to get that thing off. I would love to have my own personal bottle of whatever adhesive Nissan uses. The black nismo ball will be my knob of choice.
