So...not sure how many of you know about this product but I just found out about it from some guys on the local car forum I'm on. Basically, it's an alternative to vinyl (you know, those guys who have wrapped their cars in vinyl) that is just as easy to remove, etc. You can buy a can locally at a hardware store and evidently it's easy to apply (doesn't run, etc.). That being said, considering some minor detail work on my car.

Which option would ya'll go with? I'm leaning towards option 1.

Since your car is black both options look good. Try option 1 first and see how you like it and then try the 2nd one and see which one you like better.

I think start off with option 1...it blends well with the other accents on the car....

For your car, I'd say Option 1 as well...although I have option 2 on mine lol. 1 just seems to fit your car more..if that makes sense

So glad someone finally posted on this. I painted my rims with plast dip last summer. Been on my wheels for about 15 months now and still look like day one.

I did option 1, BUT... the plastidip black will look nothing like the black on your car, especially after you wash it a few times. From a distance I can't really tell the difference because it's so dull it's almost gray.

Haven't done it yet, probably in the spring. But did you clearcoat yours?

No, I didn't clearcoat. I only sprayed it on to get an idea of what it may look like if I decide to body-match it. I read how the plastidip is durable, yet would peel right off if it needed to be removed, so I gave it a shot. It definitely adheres well after it's cured. I've been on a few 3hr+ road trips and have no chips. Be careful with application though, because mine came out with a textured finish. There is a way to get it to spray smooth

I like option 1. I did my grill on my G and it turned out great. its got a small chip in it from a BRICK and its easy to fix. Peel and repaint. Mine hasnt faded in the year its been on and in the salt and snow
