I finally got a nice day and some spare time to do my emblems. I always hated them because they were chrome and the rest of the trim on my car is dark. It is just as easy as everybody says it is. Just takes a little time and patience. I love the results. Now my car matches all around.

Cool!! So what's the process? Do you send them off to get dipped?

No...it is simple as pie! Just tape off the car leaving a small square around the emblem.

I did 5 very light coats allowing 30 minutes inbetween to dry. Then you just peel it off. It comes off of the paint, but not the emblem. You wouldn't believe how clean of a line it is. Places inside, like the "0" in 250 and the middle of the Lexus emblem, just poke it with a toothpick and twirl the toothpick. The Plasti-Dip sticks to the pick and comes right off the paint!

There are a lot of great tutorials on You-Tube. The best one I saw was of a guy doing a Tundra.

I ordered mine from here:

https://www.dipyourcar.com/home.php

because I wanted Anthracite. It is the exact same color of my wheels and it has a little bit of a metalic look. I have heard that Lowe's and Home Depot sell it, but I would imagine they would only have black. You can check that out and save the shipping costs. I know how you men LOVE to walk through Lowe's and HD! :chuckle:

Talked to a guy yesterday that does this to entire cars for around 500. Said it's good for 3 or more years. Also sprays clear bra's with it. Also comes off ez when you want it to.

I would like to try to do some experiments, like making a fake diffuser or making the part under my grill black, but I have to find out how you you can make a straight line. (did that make sense?) When you pull off the tape, the P/D comes off with the tape. I don't know how to make it stay on the car. I'll have to Google.

Joe, I looked at a car like yours the other day and the D O D G E is on plastic. I don't know how that would work. Check with your Challenger buddies.

I can't imagine having the whole car done. Maybe if you had a beater car. It would look better than rust spots or peeling clear coat.

They are usually on a painted surface. It comes off the paint, but not the metal emblem. I don't know how it does on plastic.

Don't ask me why?!?!?!

It is funny. It is kind of like a balloon. Stretchy.
