Check out the auction for plans to supercharge your Q45.

Is this anyone on this site? The guy says that his setup is a rough draft. He says that he gained 122hp at the wheels.

Interesting.

He's a member here, doesn't post much...

I think we've talked via phone at some point.

Pretty ghetto-rigged setup, and I'd be concerned about the ECU and such, and I'll guarantee that hood won't close as pictured, but other than that, there's no reason it couldn't be done.

Shall I purchase the "plans" and report back?

I was kind of hoping I wouldn't have to get rid of my hood.

You wouldn't have to lose the hood, just put a hood scoop where the filter sticks out.

Of course, you know I am kidding.

There has to be another place for the intake.

Well, I've been talking to the seller a little. He is indeed a member on Nico. I told him to email Greg to get his password reset.

At first I wasn't going to pay for it, but now I think I might if you guys are offering up some duckies

I originally thought he was actually selling the supercharger kit. I know, I'm really dumb

Careful ! Potential for copyright/ intellectual property infringement.

Lawyers are everywhere with a hair trigger aimed at the NICO coffers. It'd be a shame to lose all this good info...I recently had an interesting event on this matter with EBay.

You bid on something and you were not going to pay for it???????? What the hell is wrong with you, normally I dont get into this sorta thing, but come on dude, how on earth did you think you were buying the whole kit for $5.00, did you not READ what the bid was for, I try to stick up for you because you seem like a good guy, but forget it, your on your own, GROW UP and stop giving NICO a bad name. Be a man and pay for it yourself, I for one will not give you a f%^$*&^% dime.

And oh, I just paypaled him the money. So please lay off me man.

And Squeefoo: I understand what you're saying about the copyright thing. I will ask if the info is indeed copyrighted/patented(probably not). If it is, I can and will email the plans to anybody that wants them.

If it's not copyrighted/patented, I will just post the plans on Nico.

Oh, BTW, if something is patented, you can just go to the patent website and get the plans for it. Isn't that weird? They try to protect their inventions by basically giving them to the public

Anyone know what the intake pipe from the SC to the TB is made of? Looks like a casting. Couldn't be, could it?

It sure looks like it doesn't it? If it is, then someone has the specs! I don't need to be looking at this right now anyway. Forget I chimed in..

I say get some schedule 40 PVC pipe and slap it on there .

Nah, that does look like a cast pipe. Probably cost close to $100 to get made.

You can make your own out of steel pipe and a couple 35/45 degree elbows. Weld up and you'd have a custom pipe

Bend the tubing, cut to fit, TIG and grind, grit blast then bead blast, satin clearcoat. = Fake casting. Viola!

Friend of mine has it down pat. ( even made his own CNC tube bender from scratch )

If you look at both ends of the pipe they appear to be bends added on such as you described, good catch

Ya, in the picture of that guys install, the one from ebay, the supercharger appears to be backwards! The intake should be going the other way!

Never ! You can keep it coming if you want, but I will never stop being "cheap"

*edit* Hey, how hard would it be to modify the plenum so the the intake was on the other side? Closer to the superchager?

Nothing of the sort is patented or copyrighted.

I'd prefer more pics of the one Todd posted...

No reason to mod the plenum - the above setup is perfect.

Well, I suggested modding the plenum so that the intake pipe wouldn't have far to go. How hard would it be to modify it?

Quote »Nothing of the sort is patented or copyrighted.
Well, most people don't realize it, but everything you say is copyrighted to yourself. People are supposed to get permission to reproduce your words. That's why before you go on TV, they have to ask you if it's ok that they film you. I have talked to my Professors about this subject. I asked if I could record their lectures, a few said yes, but one said NO. And the one who said no proceeded to explain to me that everything someone says belongs to that one person. And permission must be granted to reproduce it.

*edit*Quote »Then post the blueprint(s) for the BRM exhaust. If not -why not?
Go get him Squeefoo! LOL
