well in about a month, when it starts snowing i will have to put the 240 away. over this winter my plans will to swap out my agx/H&R's for some coilovers and get some ST swaybars. i would also like to get a kaaz lsd if i save up enough. im not sure what coilovers i will go with yet. for you ppl who have the option of storing your car for the winter (and actually have snow) what are your plans to upgrade over the winter??? i really only race autox so a great suspension is my goal.

I'm not doing a damn thing different from any other winter; the 240's going to continue to be driven daily, through the New England winter when I am home for breaks, on the same summer tires it had on last winter. It gives you a great deal of experience, assuming you don't get overzealous, and it really isn't nearly as bad as its made out to be; so keep the 240's out this winter! :-)

eh im never home though, im in north dakota for school and upstate ny for home, only home 5 weeks for xmas, thats all until may, so i might as well.

Axel Grungy i got one of the last sets of kosei k1s from Grant at the Tire Rack. when i decided to start autocrossing i did some research and quite a few people run these, but theyre almost gone now. anyway theyre 16x7.5 22mm offset, im still trying to figure out good tires for both daily driving in wet and dry, and the occasional auto-x run.

Mine will still be driven on 'nice' days in winter. Last year we had snow or ice about once a week, might be the same this year.

Suspension is going on this weekend (coils, bushings, RUCA, etc). But goal is to have the turbo on by March.

Well, at least some 240's will get to see the light of day this winter; if anyone wants to practice their "drifting", New England is a great area to do it in, except for the fact there's a ton of incompetent drivers who drive like maniacs in the snow, because as we all know, they are invincible with 4WD. ;-) But hey, it can be a fun time, hehe . . .

invincible drivers with 4wd is fun, makes for good entertainment. around me in syracuse theyre the only ones that go off the road.

however here in north dakota it just gets too cold to snow, so if you manage to get your car started its not bad at all

yep, thats the idea. the coldest day last year the temperature was at -26F, the wind chill on several occasions was down in the -60s and -70s.

fortunatly the entire campus is linked by a system of heated underground tunnels here, it makes it a tad easier

you would like snow all over again after a winter here, but i lived in tampa fl before syracuse, so i miss going to the beach on new years too

I agree with AG, snow sucks in the midwest, except, without snow, there wouldn't be SNOW DAYS! I used to love those snow days, when all my friends and I would just go out and play in the snow.

It hardly ever snowed when I was in elementary and HS, so didn't get many snow days. But in College (Boone, NC-mtns), we got a lot of cold, snow, and wind -- they cancelled class 1 day in 5.5 years I was there. And the only reasonn was because there was a mandatory curfew (2.5 feet snow, 5 degrees, and 50-60mph gusts).

at least the temperature was positive. do you remember the wind chill?

that sounds a tad better than syracuse, sounds something like a normal syracuse winter day. my friend moved to nc from syracuse and he said they have a lot less preparation and stuff to take care of it

hey Axel by the way in my other post asking about auto-x you had quite a bit of helpful info...i was wondering when you go to an event like, if running sts, since i have a ka24e instead of de if any little extra mod is allowed to make up for the power from the lost cam? seeing as by the rules you can only have intake, header, and exhuast and mild ecu, and it has to be emissions legal. is that all the mods that are allowed, even to make up for the cam power loss?

NC has absolutely no equipment to handle Ice or snow. And very stupid drivers, I'm just use to it because of going to school in the mtns (had the 240 for all 5.5 years there- only 1 wreck on ice).

Boone (and areas around there) have wind all the time. The coldest wind chill in Boone (3333 ft) while I was there was about -40 to -50. But there are colder place really close to there. Few people recongize any part of NC as getting cold, but we have some pretty high elevations. Hell, we have the highest elevation ski mountain (Beech Mountain - 6000+ ft) on the east coast of North America.

thats what he said he moved to charlotte and when they had that ice storm a few years back he said it just shut down.

syracuse wasnt nearly as cold, the wind chill would get down to -35 or so, but we also routinely get 200, 300, sometimes 400 inches of snow. but like you said the mountains are a whole different story, north dakota as many people know is very flat and still has these wind chills approaching -100 a few times a year, when you go west into montana and the rockies it never stops snowing year round.

do the mountains where you live i hope have snow removal equipment, i hope at least, both places up here are so used to it we dont even think twice about it, but down there like you said its a different story

The mtns of NC are preparred pretty well for anything under a couple feet of snow. The biggest problem is ice, we tend to see ice too much. That, and a couple times last year we got ice/snow for 2-3 days in a week, they are not preparred for constant winter precipitation.

But I do miss the mtns.
