I saw alot of people wanted to know what my plans were for my 240. well i guess they kinda go like this. this spring i hope to be the proud owner of a S15 SR20DET and a set of super advan racing vr.2 rims. the rims alone are 3k for a complete set. i have this friend and he is in the army along with me. well he went out and bought a 06 dodge magnum R/T and has some nice mods to it. He always dogs me saying im a ricer cause i drive imports. so by the summer/fall of 2010 i hope to have a 240 that can compete in a mile or 2 long drag with this magnum. just to represent a little. by the way does anyone think a 400+RWHP 240 could take a 4000lbs+ magnum with a 450+RWHP hemi? thanks guys those are the plans so far

Why S15 SR?

S14 SR's Are Considerably Cheaper And Almost The Same.Plus S15 6-speed Trans. I've Heard Break Faster Then Their 5-Speed Counter Parts.

Plus What Parts Are Going To Get You To That +400hp Car .

im a huge fan of the garett gt35 turbo i had one on my eclipse gst it was dyno'd at 450hp on 93octane it was built but was not very fast maybe 165 was the fastest ive had it on I-81. the S15 SR has 250hp stock im not positive about the S14 i will look into that.

s15 sr = more wiring and more complications. and like ditto said, the transmission has an awesome reputation of breaking. do the s14 sr and it sounds to me like you have a good plan set there!

Pretty much nailed it on the head.

SGT_Coene2 if you are going only as big as a garett gt35 turbo then it might make sense to just stay at the S15 SR but go bigger then that. And by bigger I mean try a VQ35 or an LS1.

And then if you are still worried about blowing your transmission then...

IIRC, The Only Real Difference Between The S15 SR And The S14 SR Is The S15 Brings A T-28 (Bigger Turbo).

Which From Your Post, Seems You Won't Be Using It Anyways.

thats all thats different about the two engines? well that makes things a whole lot cheaper on my part. why would i buy the same engine one with a bigger turbo when i am just going to get rid of the stock turbo anyway... you all have been very helpful.

I have what should be a 400+whp sr in my car and I dought that bloated fat a** car would put up much of a fight after my rear tires found some traction.(even with fried rings and low compression on #2)

Your a 22 yr old with a friend who just turned 15?

Weird.

And yes. Do things in steps. You don't seem super knowledgeable about cars so maybe stick with just a stock SR and nce you learn how to get it running in your car, play with it awhile. Don't jump in and dump cash at it.

Get to know it before you try to make it sexy, other wise you won't know how to turn it on.

i personally would go with a S14 Sr. IF you really want a SR.

I also believe a 400whp s13 with a decent tire/suspension. will RAPE your friends magnum.

if your really wanting to go faster top end (like it seems you want to. i would look into a larger motor (2JZ/RB26/LS1/VQ/VH/etc) that will just keep pulling up top.

Who here has broken the 6speed..... anyone? Broadfield has a S15 SR/6MT swap, no trans issues. Granted they put an extra gear in the same shell, so in theory it is weaker, but who has broken one? I have yet to see anyone on these forums break one, but so many people call them junk.

Plus newer engine and trans over older higher mile stuff is better IMO
