Hey guys I eventually plan on running boost but its gonna be awhile before I do. Maybe a year or two. I plan on running a supercharger(frontier) on about stock boost for reliability. Plus I'd like to know how to drive a high power car before i get there. Don't worry about how i'm gonna run the sc kit thats my problem (that means fabricating myself). I want to put the kit on a fully built ka24e. Yes I'm a single fan. I'm asking for ideas on parts.

AMS KA24E Advanced Rebuild kit (SOHC) $1,715

1. Arias .020 over Pistons with 8.8:1 Compression Ratio (since I have no turbo to spool I'm going to ask for the 8.5:1 pistons.

2. AMS/Turbo240 Sportsman Series Connecting Rods

3. Clevite Main and Rod Bearings

4. Fel-pro Full Engine Gasket Set, Including headgasket (unless I can find a better set)

5. Arp Main Studs

6. Arp Head Studs

7. All the Necessary Timing Assembly Replacement Parts

thats everything that comes in their kit.

valves / springs ?

cam-pdm about $300 I think

piston rings ?

crank - not sure what to do to it.

injectors-2nd gen rx-7 550cc

fuel management-not sure which one(standalone)

fuel pump-walbro $100 less I think

thats everything I can think of for now. any ideas on part will help. I'll be using this thread as a check list for myself and it will be updated as necessary.

big *** exhaust to let it out. Also a header will have to be included in your list. Why fully built if only stock boost of said s/c? Whats it put out ? Stock rebuild FTMFW! If your not going crazy with boost or trying to hit 8000rpm. A cam and injectors would be good idea. Or just cheap out and get an fmu. That would save a pretty penny over the stand alone.

another question, I know a fully built motor will gain power with no power adder but that all makes for a very costly build. Here's the question, can I have some of that ca$h?

well I know about the header already I just didn't bother to list it and I already have a 3in custom cat back.I want a full build on stock boost for starters I plan on boosting this car around 15-20 eventually. what can I say I'm a sucker for reliability. I don't want to worry about it blowing up it will be a daily driver. I can't remember what the sc puts out. check out tloofs thread on his sc de. I know its gonna be expensive but I'm gonna do it little by little. I'm getting a free ka24e so I'm gonna do a complete tear down then off to a machine shop then I buy parts 1-3 parts at a time. I think a piston rod set up will go for maybe $300-$600. valves, springs $250 etc. etc.

This is just my 2 cents, but I think you should stay away from the 2nd gen rx-7 injectors, because if you're planning on doing a feul management upgrade it's gonna be a ***** with those 450cc's because most piggyback or reflashes for the FM are made for either the SR 370cc injectors or the 550cc NISMO ones.

But what I'm really trying to say is all hail SOHC

well its gonna take me a while to save up for that kit. but think about the possibilities in the end. I'm gonna start at about 220 whp give and take a few hp and i'll be good anywhere under 500hp. but its lookin like it will take maybe 2 years. b/c I plan on doing other things to the car while I build the motor. Mainly suspension, header, brakes, and any other things that break.

1989 240sex the rx-7 550cc injectors have been used too many times to count. plus I'm not 100% sure what kind of fuel management I want.

Neverlift If your still around I might take you up on that but its gonna be a while.

you just let me know when you need it. I'll link you to the site to buy your eeprom and socket. I'll be around. I was a nissan fan way before I found nico(first car was a 91 sentra 2dr auto, easily drug my friends 93 mustang lx, this was like 6 years ago) and now I found a group of morons that seem to be for the most part just like me. Anyways like I said I'll tune the injectors for you no problem, free. Adn maybe by then I'll have better skillz with my tuning and tune it out all the way, your close enough.
