Have done some browsing, and this looks like a great, very active forum site. Congratulations to all for the way you support each other.
After an '05 and and '08 Subaru Legacy GT, I find that Subaru has abandoned this old slushbox addicted performance enthusiast. No auto in the latest GT, which is reputed not to handle like the 05-10 models, anyway. I enjoy driving my wife's WRX on occasion, but my arthritic hips won't take clutching on my daily 20 mile rush hour commute, so there it is.
Test drove a G37x last week. Just, wow. I had a mid-nineties Q45, so I expected solid and luxurious, but the power and handling of the G just blew me away. So, numbers.
Edmunds has TMV of a G37x with premium package at $35,989, but they also show the Volvo S60 T6 TMV at full sticker, which can't be right, so I'm wondering. Invoice looks like $36918, sticker $40,025. A dealer 75 miles up I95 has Internet pricing on the car @$34,615, which I suppose is factoring in the $1500 current dealer cash incentive and leaving around $500 profit. The local dealer is about 20mi from me, in Richmond, VA, and I left the salesman with contact info and the notion that I intended to buy in March or April. He said he'd probably call me toward the end of the month if they had any good pricing going on.
Any advice on what I should target, pricewise? I think I'm realistic about my trade, expect to get Edmunds "clean" trade in value, and would buy this month if the money is right. Or would I do much better in March-April? The Legacy trade-in will, of course, decline somewhat in that time.
