I am planning on buying a G35 Coupe 6MT. Not sure which year but preferrably the 05 model. I have never owned a Nissan. Just wondering what sort of problems are inherent in the 6MT that I should be wary of. Some other questions...

1) How is fuel economy based on your experience?

2) Is the effect of the LSD noticeable?

3) Are there any bank breaking issues with the engine, transmission, drivetrain?

Thanks

Reverse gets put in a funny position with a 6spd. I don't know how the G35's are setup but in my car I have to push down, right and back. My friends moms Mercedes C230 is pull up, left and forward.

Fuel econ is usually 26 MPG ... mine is 10 MPG now ... dang mods

With VDC off you can feel a kick

No bank breaking ISSUES , but there might be bank breaking MOD BUGS!very safe engine

the dead pedal and clutch need a little work , but thats an easy fix in our HOW TO thread

and YES we like to stick with our own KIND , including the more sporty little brother , 350Z

I'd like to point you to the G35 forum. You'll have a much better chance of getting the info you need there. I don't think many of the G owners get to Gen chat all that often .

Gas mileage is normal...unless you mod like crazy and then gas it all the time...just like any other car. My '06 6MT only has 7k miles so I can't really give you much advice on repairs because mine hasn't had any...it's still pretty much brand new.

Did I mention it is for sale? But it's a sedan so you're probably not interested!! Good luck and have fun. This site is very good for information and entertainment.

Yes... Kenriks G is hawt and for sale!!

I had an 05 and I never had a problem...other then gas consumption. In my experience...these cars are not the greatest on gas...probably most of the time it has to do with the driver though because you can't help but rip it everywhere. But, people don't buy a G because of the great gas mileage. If you are worried about gas... the G is probably not for you.

Go here http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/ for common problems. But like I said, I never had one and personally love the car. The 05 is a great year!

I merged the two identical threads from the OP together ... so you may see some "out of sequence time" posts in this thread ...
