I just got my 96 se last thursday and have spent the last few days down the shore. I am trying to make a good plan for achieving what i want with this car.

My over all goal is approx 300rwhp. I would like to build the car with strong enough parts that it does not break easily. I would like to be able to drift the car and occasionally make a run down the track, but don't care to much about the time. Basically i want to have an enjoyable car that i can turn on and have fun with on weekends.

The car is in really good condition minus - dent in a passenger rear quarter panel. Other than that the car is stock. I have read the stickies at the top of the forums but i am looking for a little more help.

In one of the threads on here someone said that upgrading the suspension, brakes, etc should come first before rebuilding/turboing the motor. What types of suspension should i be looking at for my goals?

As for rebuilding and turboing, does anyone know of any KA24DE rebuild kits?

I know this project will take a long time and i intend to do it right. I am working on trying to organize a list of parts that i will need, and their cost so i can put it into a timeline and get working. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You want to do basic maintenance first, before you start dumping cash into other parts of your car. Take it to your mechanic and ask him to do a complete check of everything. If you try to boost a car with other problems, you will have a nightmare on down the line.

If your car is a daily driver i would stay away from coilovers, unless you dont mind bouncing around. Upgraded shocks and springs will help your car handle and you'll never regret doing it. Make sure all your CV and ball joints are in good shape.

Theres lots of Ka rebuild kits out there. Check our sponsors, i personally would recommend AMS, cuz those guys own. First however, how many miles are on your car? You might not need a rebuild first. You can boost on stock internals and get 300 whp reasonably safely. If its not broken, dont fix it, basically.

The car has 123,000 on the auto transmission. I'm gathering all the parts for a 5spd swap. The car is not a daily driver and never will be. I have a 95 accord for that. I am hoping to get it to my friends shop this weekend for so he can look it over for me.

Sure why not,

Get your self a transmission cooler, don't run insane amounts of boost, and you should be good to go ..
