Hi all,

I'm the original owner of a completely stock, 93 convertible with about 225k miles on it.

While shopping for a new project car to work on (I've restored a half dozen classic mustangs in the past 15 yrs), my wife and I decided that her 240sx would make a good candidate.

So here we go. The plan is to pretty much strip down the entire car. Clean & repaint all of the sheet metal inside & out, engine compartment and even the under carriage. Engine has been rebuilt, but the trans, drivetrain & suspension will all be rebuilt or replaced.

So even though I'm approaching this with the intent to simply restore the car to "like new" stock condition, WHILE IM AT IT... if the engine, trans, suspension & interior can be improved for about the same cost as stock, I'd like to hear the forum's suggestions.

Thanks

Welcome to the party! I am almost done resorting my 93 'vert. Check out my Painting a 240SX thread: painting-a-240sx-t563111.html

Post up some pictures, ask questions here or in the Convertible Forum - there are usually several of us vert owners around NICO.

Hey thanks for the reply... I was starting to wonder if there was anyone out there.

I just spent the last 30+ min reading your painting thread... that's quite a journey. Well done. I'm out in San Diego now, but I grew up on LI and have family in Wappingers Falls, so I can relate to the wx related issues. You're a braver man than I...

As for my project, I have no intentions of doing any major mods to the car. I will, however strip it down and slowly bring it back to life. My goal is to have it done by Christmas, so I can present it to my wife... she loves this car.

As I mentioned in my original posting, I'll be taking practically everything apart. So (WIAI) while I'm at it, I want to upgrade anything I can, as long as the cost is fairly close to what a stock replacement might be.

Very nice! it's not too often you see people building an OEM 240sx. :bigthumb:

Yeah, I've been working on my vert for quite a while. I blame my laziness for how long it has taken!

Wappingers huh? Yeah, that's close. Good luck with your resto!
