Hey guys, I'm planning on buying an '83 280zx with 110k miles for 2.9k it runs and is in great condition. How reliable would it be? And when can I expect TD engine to go?

2900 is a lot for an 83 280zx, unless it's real clean and hopefully a turbo 5 speed 2 seater

110k miles is a good start in the break in proces, if you keep the oil changed the engine should last well past 200k miles, it uses a a timing chain so you won't have to worry about replacing a timing belt, just change the oil, and deal with the inevitable injection gremlins that will pop up, the injector clips and wires sit directly over the exhaust and harned and crack and become an issue in time, the afm will some day die, possible even the ecu and if it's a turbo the distributor and ignitor and known to fail every 30 years or so, otherwise aging hoses and belts should be replaced as needed
