Ok so Im done selling out guys. Im back on board lol.

Gonna start building turbo manifolds next week. This is the basic look of it .

I have these two turbos they are rebuilt never been used and i got them for free so id like to use one, but from what im told they are probably to big for my application What do you guys think

The one on the left in both pictures is a Holset HX50 with 19cm/2 exhaust housing While the one on the right is a Holset H2c with 19cm/2 exhaust housing.

Im told the h2c is good for upwards of 600whp. But both my exhaust housings are too big.

yo,i dont know much about turbo size's but i can say that in your car its easier than a z32.in a zed the tubo go under the motor.you have more room for high mounts.SO DO IT and post some burnout vids.cheers ps you dont perhaps have a spare 90-93 ecu?

Glad you're staying with the VH. All you need to do is invest in some custom pistons and boost the **** out of it. The stock bottom end can take it. Probably a good idea to get a aftermarket engine management system but the stock ecu can handle more than it's given credit for.

Get some bigger injectors and I'm sure Elwesso could run a few maps for you and fine tune to your liking. He gave me a boost map for future use good for something like 5-10 psi.

Awesome, good to know you're here to stay! What makes you say the exhaust housings are too big for a single turbo setup? Are these turbos way more massive than the one Jeff Taylor has in his 446rwhp S14 ?

I have a Holset off of a Dodge Cummings Turbo Diesel. It has a T3 inlet, and dual inlets. I think that is what I plan on using.

Had to take the engine out to remove the headers. Took most of the day.

I never posted before but heres the whole exhaust system out of the car. I might be selling the headers though.

Cant' wait to see what you come up with.

What did you decide to do about the engine? Didn't you blow the last one?

Yea it spun a rod bearing but it still runs well enough to test, on 7 cylinders anyway lol.

Damned street racers...

I see how you did your p.s. pump now. That's a sweet setup. Are you going to be able to keep it with the new manifold routing?

Off topic but looking at your hoses reminds me...I just got a job with a hose company. Can you say "unlimited access to virtually any type of hose, fitting, p.s., a/c, oil, jic, jis, etc."? muahahhahahahhaha

Too bad I already have 80% of my hosing done. I ended up paying 5 bucks and change a foot for p.s. return hose at autozone. Talk about bad timing... oh well.

Picked up a garret t3/60-1 from a friend and got my merge collectors to try to come up with ideas. The down pipe can only go over the valve covers and down the back, but manifold wise i got few options.

I could run a baller stainless tublar manifold and make it look all types of bad *** but as you coul see i would have all kinds of fitment issues. .. pic

obviously id chop off the bulk of the collector and weld on a t3 flange

or i could make a simple and easy log manifold and sit the turbos like so but not as bad ***

I though about bottom mount two t28's but you can see the room im working with

Know anyone who can tig? If so, why not make a couple of collectors? Me & the hairy at work here made a 4 into 1 merge collector for a 4AGE (YUCK) turbo manifold... ez pz, modeled it in 3d and got the exact angle required for milling the tube such that four of them be welded together to the required shape.

Might be easier for you to get some thick walled (3mm+) 1.3/4" I.D. pipe and do that, rather than chopping up your nice merge collectors.

yo,gs14 if you want i can mark out some paterns for collector tubing and the collector itself.thats if you dont already know the tricks of metal shaping. cheers

Thanks perana but After re-evaluating things a tublar manifold will be next to impossible to build, looks like logs for me, ill make them out of stainless. Fast easy cheap and effective.

Hell ls1's with logs are pushing upwards of 1000hp so i should be ok at 400whp.

MR GSRACER ... what sort of person doesnt reply to a fellow VH45 owner's email?? :P Did you get my email??

off topic ... METTLER ... whats wrong with the 4AGZE?? They're an awesome engine. Cast iron block. Alloy Head. Semi forged pistons from factory ... EASILY capable of making 270 hp at the wheels stock internals ... impressive from a 1.6

VH will do that standard, that's why I don't like the 4AGE and other *insert undersized, underdisplaced sewing machine engine here*

Oh ... BTW ... the H2C compressor is too small for a 4.5 litre ... ie. at 15psi would become efficient at around 1900 rpm ... and exit at around 3400 rpm

thats running 1 of them ... if you run 2 of them ... very decent compressor choice!

15psi would become efficient at around 2900 rpm ... and stays efficient until around 8800 rpm ...

as for exhaust housing sizes ...

a VH45 with factory camshafts, 10ish:1 compression, good exhaust, etc etc ... nothing over the top requires around 29 lbs/min exhaust flow ...

not too familiar with the exhaust housing flow of the H2C's ...

I think im just gonna throw an SR20 back in and enjoy the car for a while. RB/LS1 was what i wanted but i think for the first time in my life Im just gonna keep it simple.

If I were you I would pull a "Menendez" on my parents and stick that blown motor in your bottom pic into the SX.

But that's just me. My parents are broke.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

I like the thought of simple.

Till your right foot asks for more. Congrads on the swap sale! How many days till we here about a new project, cuz simple is boring? Seriously, I am guessing less than 20. Just look on craigslist, with money in hand, that place is amazing
