i need to know what the red and white striped, and the red and blue striped wire that stick out of the top of the ignition its about 2 inches long and it goes to a connector that have a red and black wire. i think its for the steering wheel lock. and i need to know how to bypass them if possible, or is it a power wire? do i have to supply power to the wire? my ignition is frozen up. i unscrewed the switch from behind so i can start my car but the wheel is locked. now its sitting in my friends apartment complex in a 48hr parking spot next to the local police department. i dont want to get it towed!!!

One pair detects when your key is in the ignition and the other pair is to keep you from removing your key without putting the transmission in park. Neither have anything to do with the steering wheel lock. Unfortunately (at least in this particular case) you will have to remove the ignition cylinder to unlock your steering wheel. This will require grinding slots in the two security bolts holding it in from beneath so you can unscrew then with a flathead screwdriver.
