I'm about to order an RB20 for my 240SX and am having some issues. Was gonna get a full R32 clip from Venus for $1500, but it weighs FKN 1500 pounds and would cost $800  to ship from there to me in VA. I found someone selling an RB20 motor set with a cut harness and it would cost me way less overall. Anyone know where I could source a new/used RB20 harness, or at least enough of one to splice into my KA harness to get it running?

Or, anyone have suggestions as to where I could buy just the complete motor set (so shipping wouldn't kill me) for a good price? I found this place pretty close to me that sells RB20s, but I don't know anything about them. They don't even have contact info up...

justjap.com MIGHT have an RB20 harness for you..

I got my RB25DET harness from them for a good price. Hit them up.

I would just find a motorset if I was you. Getting a clip is alot of work. I personally went with a motorset.

Thanks :)

Were mounts included with your motor set?

nope.. I'm going to get all of that stuff soon though.

It all depends on what comes with your particular set..

I still have to get the engine and transmission crossmembers, and then I'll be buying the mckinney mount set and driveshaft. That'll get it into the car.

maybe its cause they are all attached to their engines. You'd think that they would have a spare sitting around tho.

It'd probably cost more to drive cross-country and get it myself, I think :)

SUCKS being in Virginia :(

Does anyone have recommendations for a place to buy a complete motor set from?

Hey Night what are your motorsets going to run? Do they come with the R32 crossmember? What would you say two RB20 motorsets shipped to Utah would cost?

FYI!!! NAMELESS EJ6 With the Mckinney install mounts you DO NOT need the Skyline crossmembers, our kit works with the stock 240 front crossmember and we give you a new trans crossmember in the kit..

Hey Mack, do you guys make a mount kit for the RB20? Or will your RB25 kit work for the motor? What about the transmission mount?.... :)

'Bout how much would they run, do you know? Probably around $300 for the harness and about the same for the ECU?...

$350.00 shipped, that includes the computer and all engine sensors attached, coils are extra.

So that's $350 for the harness AND ECU, and that would pretty much cover me (as far as wiring goes) for installation into a 240SX? Of course, I'd have to splice it into my KA harness to use the KA dash, but would I have all the wiring materials I need?....

Yup:D . You may want to check if the coils are good on that motor before you buy the harness from Mad. That way if they arent in working order, you can buy the coils from him and he can ship all that crap at once.

Actually you may also want the lower harness. We used a combination of both on mine, but Nismo241 used both the RB main and lower harness

I grab the engine's harness, if it routes into the body harness behind the headlights I cut it there, any relay boxs I leave attached. I get all the sensors off the engine and the ignitor box as well as the computer. I cut the other end of the harness under the dash after it has exited the computer. Checking the coils is a good idea, they are often cooked. Leave the center cover off the top and let them breathe.

Yeah, I went ahead and took the more expensive route and ordered a full clip from Venus. The shipping cost sucks, but it should prove to be less of a headache in the end. No missing wiring harnesses to worry about, no missing intercooler/ignitor/MAF/crossmembers/mounts, etc. etc. I think it should prove to be worth the $2249 (total cost of the RB20 clip shipped to my front door) :)

Here's hoping they bring a lift gate big enough, I read some post on here about them using a 5 foot lift gate for a 9 foot clip.... :(
